US: AKA has launched ‘staycalm with AKA’, a wellbeing initiative of immersive and curated experiences in recognition of National Mental Health Awareness Month.

The new program aims to address anxiety and stress people may have in their everyday life, by providing tools to regain balance and manage how they feel as business travel resumes.

Larry Korman, president of AKA said: “Health and wellness is a pillar of the AKA ethos. As our guests’ travel priorities evolve, we hope that in some small way – even for an hour – we can help alleviate and mitigate people’s disquietude through the programs and our like-minded partners of staycalm

Staycalm includes a variety of practices and classes across AKA properties in the US.

  • All AKA Properties in the U.S.: For the remainder of 2022, all AKA residents will receive complimentary access to Sleepspace, an app with features designed to help users achieve the best night sleep. The app will be free for AKA residents for 30 days whether staying with AKA or back at home.
  • AKA Central Park, AKA Sutton Place and AKA Times Square, New York: Starting in May, residents at the three NYC locations may use a complimentary Core by Hyperice. Unlike other meditation apps, Core is both an app and a handheld meditation device designed to track heart rate and stress levels. The app uses biometrics to encourage breath control and focus for those navigating meditation techniques.
  • AKA University City, Philadelphia: Is partnering with The Lab to offer meditative sunset and sunrise yoga sessions. Participants will learn exercises, controlled breathing and relaxation techniques that will help them manage anxiety and reduce stress. For a fee, the property will also off Aqua Vida  for floating-aqua yoga.
  • AKA Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia: Is offering a “Wellness Menu” of private wellness and meditation-themed experiences for residents to enjoy this May. Sound meditation artist Luna Maye will be there to help guests release deep stress, inspire meaningful connection, and get to the heart of their creativity. Pilates and Yoga is also on offer.
  • AKA Beverly Hills and AKA West Hollywood have 15 per cent off tech-remedies at Remedy Place, which brings together alternative medicine doctors, ancient practices and modern technologies. These two properties are also introducing a Stay AKA Add-On Package from May which includes the Remedy Place Staycation Pass. This offers four Tech-Remedy reservations, a guided breathwork ice bath class, unlimited cryotherapy (for one month upon activation), the signature Remedy Shot vitamin injection, a 24k-gold acupressure ear seed appointment with one of Remedy Place’s resident acupuncturists, and a donation to Project Healthy Minds.
  • Hotel AKA Brickell, Miami: Is offering holistic treatments at Leaf Spa.

AKA features a design-driven portfolio of innovative hotels and hotel residences. Designed for short and long stays, AKA recently teamed up with architect and designer Piero Lissoni to open its Madison Avenue hotel in September this year.
