UK: A bar and nightclub in Manchester’s Village Quarter will be redeveloped into an aparthotel or service apartments.

The specialist markets team at CBRE has acquired View Bar on Chorlton Street on behalf of Cringle Corporation Ltd. View Bar was previously operated by Makerfield Catering Company Ltd and will now be redeveloped to create a 70-unit aparthotel. CBRE have been selected to source an operator for the scheme.

“This is a key acquisition for Cringle Corporation in terms of unlocking the wider building for complete redevelopment and refurbishment into serviced apartments or an aparthotel,” said Nick Huddleston, associate director at CBRE Manchester. “With the hotel and serviced apartment sector in Manchester continuing to flourish, this development scheme provides an exciting opportunity for an existing operator to expand its portfolio of serviced apartments within the UK’s second city.”

Joshua Senior of Cringle Corporation said: “Acquiring View Bar was a key strategy for us in redeveloping the overall building into a bespoke serviced apartment or aparthotel scheme. Chorlton Street is a fantastic location for those needing a city centre location, benefiting from a number of retail and leisure facilities which are only set to expand following a number of planned key schemes. The Chorlton Street building’s canal side setting and the easy links to Manchester’s Central Business District and main shopping area further add to the site’s convenient location.”</p
