Switzerland: Base Aparthotels has opened its second property, the 35-unit Base Vevey.

The property features 35 units ranging in size from 20 to 35 square metres, all with floor-to-ceiling windows, fully equipped kitchens and king-sized Hypnos beds.

It also includes the Tandem Restaurant, Bar & Garden, which is run by Swiss TV chef Benjamin Luzuy and has a 2,500 square foot garden. Other features include Base Balcony & Bar (BB&B), a 70 square metre sixth floor terrace with views of the Alps and lake Geneva, a 24/7 gym and sauna, meeting and breakout rooms, and an open-plan reception with check-in/out kiosks instead of a front desk.

James Fry, co-founder of Base Aparthotels, said: “Base Vevey is the next step in the evolution of the Base brand.  Base Vevey is located in the Lake Geneva town of Vevey, home to the world headquarters of Nestlé.   It incorporates 35 Suites over five floors sandwiched between our first restaurant – Tandem Restaurant, Bar & Garden and our Base Balcony & Bar (BB&B). Base continues to innovate with touch screen kiosks, keyless entry, Base Boxes for returning guests, Base Breakfast Bags (BBB) our unique breakfast concept and Base Bikes (BBs). In addition, we continue to be the leading sustainably operated brand in the sector.”

The company’s first property, Base Nyon, opened in October 2015.
