Switzerland: Construction work has started on Base Vevey, the second aparthotel project by Base Management.
The 35-unit five-storey new-build project will feature a gym, meeting rooms, and a roof terrace with views of Lake Geneva. It will also include a 250 square metre terrace and restaurant operated by Swiss celebrity chef Benjamin Luzuy.
The property, which is due to open in January 2018, is being built by NORWOOD SA and was designed by architects Richter Dahl Rocha & Associés, of Lausanne.
Vevey is home to the international world headquarters of Nestlé, the biggest food company in the world.
Base Management co-founder James Fry said: “We are targeting business clients (mainly attached to Nestle), and a growing touristic market from April to September.”
The company’s first property, Base Nyon, opened in October 2015.</p
