Northern Ireland: Central Belfast Apartments has seen a 60 per cent increase in reservations in the past month, as Covid restrictions are gradually lifted.
Central Belfast Apartments, based in Belfast, has seen a substantial increase in bookings in the last few months as Covid restrictions were gradually raised in Northern Ireland. The company operates 23 properties, five of which were recently added. These properties have reached 86 per cent capacity for reservations in the upcoming summer months.
Dave Cordner, managing director of the group, said: “The recent flood in bookings demonstrates the pent-up demand for staycations and exploring the incredible attractions and hospitality that we have on our doorstep here in Belfast.”
Once restrictions started being lifted in late April, the company saw a 118 per cent increase in hits on its website.
These increases in bookings are an all-time high for the company, who is experiencing a change in its typical customer profile. The apartments were usually filled with international visitors, but the group has seen increases in domestic visitors since restrictions were lifted. The company also noticed that many guests were families looking into booking apartments for the first time.
Cordner said: “In the past, a significant portion of our customers came from America and Europe, and although we cannot wait to welcome our European and international visitors back to Belfast, our focus this summer is on securing bookings and attracting visitors from across Ireland and the UK, and the signs are good, the demand is there.”
