US: The Home2 Suites and Candlewood Suites brands are coming to Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The city’s south side will host the two new extended-stay hotels – with one poised to open in September and the other hoping to break ground next month.

Home2 Suites by Hilton will be built behind the Oakwood Mall. The 84-key, four-storey hotel will begin construction in August and open in summer 2019, according to Mike Patel, president of the Eau Claire Lodging Group, which will own the property.

Plans for the new hotel will be reviewed this week at a meeting of the Eau Claire Plan Commission. It will be Patel’s first hotel in Eau Claire, but he is involved in 10 others in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Also on Eau Claire’s south side, Larson Companies is nearing completion on its Candlewood Suites at 4937 Bullis Farm Road. The 81-key extended-stay hotel is on schedule for a September 12 opening, said Jill Brenner, Larson’s manager of marketing projects.
