UK: Cheval Phoenix House in Chelsea, London, has reopened after 15 months of renovation, debuting sustainable design features which will form the basis of a new aesthetic for Cheval Collection.
Cheval Phoenix House offers 34 one and two-bedroom apartments with a 24-hour reception and on-site gym.
A number of sustainable features designed to reduce energy usage include: energy efficient heat pumps for hot water, low-energy lighting and sensors, a heating and cooling air conditioning system, and water-efficient showers and tap fittings.
During the renovation, 99.76 per cent of construction waste was recycled and the interior designers used sustainably-sourced FF&E and finishes including fabrics from recycled materials. Other natural materials such as stone and timber were also used.
Mohammed Alawadhi, managing director, Cheval Collection, said: “The refurbishment of Cheval Phoenix House underscores our commitment to our existing estate, while we continue to expand around the world. We are committed to delivering the highest standards for our guests and this means not only the latest luxury designs, but a clear commitment to sustainability.”
Next year, Cheval Collection is planning to launch Cheval Maison – West Regent, located in Glasgow, which will be the fourth property in Scotland.
The group currently operates nine sites in London, three in Edinburgh, and one in Dubai.
