UK: Cheval Collection is to add an extension to its Cheval Old Town Chambers property.

From mid-July 2021, Cheval Old Town Chambers will have an extension developed by owner Chris Stewart Group which includes 25 new apartments, a new reception area and a guest lounge. Located in Edinburgh’s Old Town and opening directly on to the Royal Mile at 329 High Street, Cheval Old Town Chambers will now offer a total of 75 apartments.

The converted A listed property will also include a 140-seat ground floor bar and restaurant, also developed by Chris Stewart Group. Called Luckenbooths – named after a row of historic commercial buildings that once existed adjacent to the building – it will be managed by Edinburgh-based restaurant group Bon Vivant.

The property will open in time for the 2021 Edinburgh festival season, which has recently been confirmed as going ahead.

Mohammed Almarzooqi, managing director of Cheval Collection, said: “It is with great pleasure that we are announcing further expansion in Edinburgh. After a challenging year we are delighted to have additional stock in such a vibrant capital to enable us to meet demand as the hospitality sector begins to recover. As a brand we continue to evolve and adapt with new properties in high-demand locations and look forward to continuing our partnership with Chris Stewart Group.

Chris Stewart, CEO of the Chris Stewart Group, said: “This has been another labour of love for CSG. Working with the traditional façade and creating a stylish and classic interior that will stand the test of time has been a rewarding experience for the whole team. We are grateful to Edinburgh Council for their support throughout this project and I believe we have another development that the city can be proud of. The addition of 25 fully managed serviced apartments as well as the accompanying ground floor bar and restaurant will enhance the area for residents and tourists alike.”
