UK: The Halston Aparthotel in Carlisle is marking four years in business following its conversion from a post office building.
Over the past four years the building has seen a $7 million investment and a number of major changes including the development last year of six serviced townhouses and the opening of the Penny Blue bar and restaurant.
The Halston, which now has a staff of 81, is a popular venue for weddings and business events.
Co-owner Dominique Harrison said: “I am immensely proud to be celebrating The Halston’s fourth birthday. We are committed to investing in the people who work with us and in the constant development of the business to maintain the boutique luxury feel, high quality service and welcoming atmosphere. The team who work here are fantastic and I’m looking forward to celebrating this achievement with them.”
Last September The Halston was given a five star rating by VisitEngland making it the the first serviced apartment business in Cumbria to receive this accolade. It was also named self-catering provider of the year at the 2017 Cumbria Tourism awards and achieved ‘superior’ status by assessor from Quality Cumbria.
