Cycas names senior team for dual-branded Manchester property

UK: Cycas Hospitality has appointed four senior team members to its 328-unit property at the Manchester Oxford Road Campus of The University of Manchester.

Scheduled for completion in winter 2017/18, the dual-branded hotel will include a 212-room Crowne Plaza and a 116-room Staybridge Suites.

Andrew Fletcher joins as general manager, Melanie Thompson as director of sales and marketing, Heather Tsopanou as revenue manager and Rebecca Unsworth as HR and training culture coach.

Andrew Fletcher joins from Marriott Gosforth Park in Newcastle. With 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he drives business through commitment to his teams and his enthusiastic, can-do personality.

Joining from The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, Melanie Thompson has extensive experience in the local market and a proven track record of successfully driving sales, having spent 10 years in various IHG properties.

Heather Tsopanou is an experienced and accomplished hotel revenue manager who joins from Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express – Manchester City Centre.

Rebecca Unsworth joins from a cluster HR manager role for Hilton Manchester Deansgate and Manchester Airport.</p
