UK: Developer David Bellis is planning to open gin-themed serviced apartments above a new restaurant and bar on the High Street in the Welsh capital.
The apartments will be above a new restaurant Juniper Place Cardiff, which is also due to open next year.
The apartments will be across three floors and will be a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, with a penthouse suite overlooking Cardiff High street and the Castle.
There will be features such as key card entry and Welsh Cygnet Gin dispensers in every apartment. Guests will receive a complimentary bottle of Cygnet Gin in their apartment.
The apartments are part of the conversion of the former Hashery and Seafood Shack restaurants into Juniper Place Cardiff and Old Havana Cardiff, which has a planned opening of February.
Bellis said: “The building is stunning, and we are excited to bring it back to life,” he said. As it’s listed we’ll be looking to retain the beauty and fundamental features such as the high ceilings, ornate stone, the original fireplaces and physical features; whilst injecting some modern elements, design & paint work to help create our G’inspired vision. We are so very glad to contribute to the resurgence of Cardiff High Street, and be a part of what is undoubtedly an exciting time for not only the area, but the city as a whole with its continued growth”
The apartments are currently in planning stages and will be operational from 2019.
