US: My Place Hotels has broken ground on Virginia’s first My Place Hotel in King George.

A ceremony featured special guest Chip Rogers, president and CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, along with local leaders and community members, the owners, management, and My Place Hotels executives.

The new three-storey, 64-unit hotel is being developed by MP King George LLC and will be located at 4235 Market Center Dr. My Place King George is expected to open early next spring. Located off of James Madison Parkway, My Place King George will offer guests immediate access to a variety of dining and retail options.

Craig Larson, COO of owners Cornerstone Hospitality, said: “Our decision to build a My Place Hotel in King George was a very easy one to make. From the very first call we made to Terry Kline and Eric Myers, it was clear that this new brand of extended stay hotels would be a perfect fit for us and for King George. We were so impressed by how responsive and supportive they are and are very excited about this new beginning with the My Place family.”

My Place EVP of Franchise Sales Terry Kline added: “King George couldn’t be better suited for a My Place Hotel. With its close proximity to nearby Fredericksburg, Washington DC, and the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, VA, My Place King George is truly a gateway for us to cement our presence along the east coast more than ever before. We look forward to growing alongside the team in King George and can’t wait to be reunited when Virginia’s first My Place Hotel opens in the coming months.”</p
