UK: A former police station in Gateshead is to be transformed into an 18-room aparthotel under plans that have been recommended for approval.
The former Felling police station building, which dates back to 1910, is situated on Sunderland Road, close to the Felling Metro station.
Developers Mr and Mrs Marken are seeking permission to change the use of the building to an aparthotel comprising 13 two-bedroom and five one-bedroom apartments. The self-contained, self-catered apartments will have an adjoining 16-space car park.
Planning officers at Gateshead Council have recommended the project be granted planning permission ahead of the committee’s next meeting on Wednesday 12 December.
