UK: Hotel owners’ alliance HOFTEL has launched the Gulf and Indian Ocean Hotel Investors’ Summit.
Described as “the first hotel investment conference run by and for owners, and focused on their needs”, the inaugural conference will take place on February 8/9 at the Yas Viceroy Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
HOFTEL says the conference will be “the first event to present the Gulf and Indian Ocean region as a unified area, bringing together delegates from as far afield as the Middle East, Mauritius and Australia, and providing all of them with the opportunity to network with investors from the Gulf and South East Asia.”
HOFTEL chairman Simon Allison said: “We are aiming to create a new, exciting format with a Summit built around owners and their concerns. Our sessions will be short, punchy and informative, and we’re delighted already to have many of the region’s leading CEOs among our speakers, looking at both inbound and also outbound investment from the region.”
Russell Kett, chairman of HVS’s London office, added: “This is a fresh approach to hotel investment events, with a real effort to have the whole programme based around hotel owners and topics of relevance to them. There should be a good mix of owners, brands and service providers there and, with the low cost of delegate passes, I strongly encourage anyone with an interest in the region, or a desire to meet its leading investors, to attend.”
HOFTEL is a global network of 78 hospitality real estate companies which use third party brands to manage or distribute their hotels. It “exists to give a consolidated voice to an otherwise fragmented part of the hospitality sector and to ensure that owners secure an equitable deal in their relationships with key service providers”.
