UK: The Lamington Group will begin work on a room2 aparthotel on the site of a former Chiswick office building in Q2 2019.
The project, which has a completion date of Q4 2020, will be the fourth room2 property, following the launch of room2 Hammersmith in 2016 and room2 Southampton in June this year. room2 Manchester is expected to open in late 2020.
The 78-key Chiswick property will be set over four floors and a basement, comprising multiple room layouts; a shared “living room” with bar, café, lobby and work space, a gym and a laundry.
The existing building will be demolished and replaced. Architects Project Orange has been appointed architect and design team on the brick-clad building, having also designed the room2 in Southampton.
The Lamington Group team will own, develop and manage the property.
Robert Godwin, founder of room2 and managing director of property business Lamington Group, said: “We’re so excited to be growing and expanding the hometel concept further. It’s proving to be highly successful in Southampton, and guests can expect the same and more in Chiswick. We’re also keen to continue our expansion plans and welcome enquiries from interested partners and/or investors to join us on our mission to transform the long-stay apart-hotel market across the UK.”
Room2 currently has an existing committed pipeline of nearly 375 units across the UK and three further sites in early discussions.
