Germany: Technology-based serviced apartment provider and operator  limehome has signed 60 units in Hamburg, due to open in 2026.

The serviced apartment building, located in the Hamburg-Hammerbrook district of the city, will be constructed in line with the latest KfW 40 standards. This includes a photovoltaic system to supply the building with its own electricity, as well as room cooling and electric sun protection on the windows.

When complete, it will offer a range of one and two-bedroom apartments across six floors. Amenities on the first floor include a lounge area and luggage lockers.

It marks the first deal between limehome and project developers Jan Aschenbeck and Berend Aschenbeck, managing directors of Aschenbeck & Aschenbeck Projektentwicklung GmbH.

The Aschenbeck’s said: “The serviced apartments offer travellers independence and comfort with privacy and close the gap between hotel offers and private vacation apartments. The high-quality interior design by limehome creates a feel-good atmosphere in a temporary home, whether for a few days or months. All rooms are also equipped with a kitchenette. The digital check-in and check-out is another advantage, as it means no waiting times for guests.”

Matthias J. Maas, head of expansion at limehome, added: “The Hamburg metropolitan region impresses with its diverse culture and history, as well as its advanced infrastructure as an important business location. With this project, we are strengthening our presence in northern Germany. At the same time, the new building underlines our aim to play a pioneering role in the accommodation sector. We not only stand for technological innovation with our consistent digital first approach. We also want to set a good example in the area of sustainability.”
