US: Locale is expanding its footprint in Texas with newly signed leases across five luxury residential buildings in Dallas and Fort Worth.
The units are scheduled to be available in early September. With the addition of the two new markets, the Austin-based startup will operate more than 250 units across 13 buildings in Texas. Locale, which describes itself as “a boutique aparthotel brand”, currently offers its concept in Austin and Houston as well.
Other current markets include short-term and extended stays in San Francisco and Nashville, with plans to expand to Charlotte, Denver, Minneapolis, and San Diego by early 2020.
Founder and CEO Nitesh Gandhi said: “We are excited to be in Dallas. We’re focused on investing in our units. We’re investing in the product and the the experience.”
Locale’s business model involves entering long-term leases with apartment buildings, furnishing the units with upscale amenities, then rents them to business travellers and leisure guests who typically stay a week or more.
Gandhi added: “A lot of business travellers stay with us, and Dallas is a tremendous hub of business travel with the airport and the large number of corporate headquarters and other operations,” he said. “We cater to travellers who are looking for the more curated, elevated experience.”
The new properties are Locale Victory Park, Locale Uptown, Locale Design District, all in Dallas, and
Locale West 7th and Locale Magnolia in Fort Worth.
