UK: Brent Council has given planning permission to London Hotel Group (LHG) to modernise an aparthotel in Wembley.

The 61-room property is located on the corner of Elm Road and St John’s Road. The council said modernisation of the building could provide better support for the local economy and increase demand for accommodation in the area.

The new hotel is being designed by hotel architects Dexter Moren Associates, which previously worked with LHG on the newly-completed Best Western Plus Wembley.

The group plans to increase the properties capacity by creating 128 suite-style guest apartments, a restaurant and a leisure centre.

The borough has identified a need for more visitor accommodation and LHG’s new hotel will help contribute to the overall regeneration of Wembley Central.

Christian Desira from LHG said: “There’s an incredible energy in Wembley, a creative surge to modernise, to connect and welcome the world. We’re proud to be part of that and our proposal was developed with help from Brent Council’s planning team and from the community of residents and local businesses. Their feedback on the plans through our public consultation was invaluable and shaped the final application which has been approved.”

Dexter Moren Associates is a sponsor of the 2018 Serviced Apartment Summit Europe Recharge event which takes place in Amsterdam next week.</p
