KSA: Dur Hospitality has announced plans to develop Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott properties in the city of Yanbu.

The $23.1 million, 82,000-square-foot project will be Marriott International’s first franchise agreement in Saudi Arabia. Hening Larsen Architect will supply architecture and design services on the project which will feature 150 keys, a mix of hotel rooms and serviced apartments.

Marriott has a pipeline of 21 hotels with approximately 4,200 rooms in Saudi Arabia, all due to open by 2025. “Saudi Arabia is one of our key markets both for existing hotels as well as a very strong pipeline of more properties to come in more parts of the kingdom over the next five years,” said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East & Africa, for Marriott International. We hope that under this agreement we will work on other cities and sites around the kingdom.”
