China: Australian extended-stay operator Oaks Hotels and Resorts has opened Oaks Chengdu, located in the Sichuan Province adjacent to sister property, Tivoli Chengdu.

Oaks Chengdu offers 197 guest rooms and suites. Rooms which are garden-facing are designed for longer stays and come equipped with kitchens and entertainment technology.

The property forms part of a larger project in partnership with Chengdu Qingyang Urban and Rural Construction Development Company.

Alongside Tivoli Chengdu, both hotels occupy an area of nearly 110,000 square metres and provide a total of 398 rooms ranging from deluxe rooms to suites and serviced apartments.

The dual properties feature three food and beverage venues, a luxury spa and fitness facilities, a children’s club and 5,388 square metres of conference and banquet space. The meeting facilities feature a 2,275-square-metre grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,700 guests and a 3,650-square-metre lawn for outdoor weddings and themed events.

Guests staying at both hotels have access to the Café 1933, which serves an all-day southeast Asian menu, cocktails, themed afternoon tea and Chinese tea tastings. Another restaurant at the property called the Tihong Chinese Restaurant serves Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine.

The Anantara Spa offers Ayurveda-inspired therapies and treatments. Wellness facilities include a relaxation lounge, bathhouse with a Himalayan salt steam room, an 858-square-metre heated indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, children’s swimming pool, and wet and dry saunas.

Tivoli Chengdu was the inaugural property in China for Tivoli Hotels & Resorts. It launched in late 2019 as phase one of the development.
