UK/Singapore: Oakwood has appointed Marcel Lindt as vice president of development, Oakwood, Europe.
Based at Oakwood’s London office, Lindt will be responsible for sourcing new development opportunities to grow the brand’s portfolio in both the short and long term-stay segments. Oakwood has plans to double its global hospitality portfolio to 150 properties by 2024 through securing management contracts.
Lindt has extensive experience in the extended stay and serviced apartment sectors of hospitality development. Prior to joining Oakwood, he served as Accor’s vice president of development for residential and extended stay in Europe, and before that he was Frasers Hospitality’s director of business development in EMEA for eight years.
In his new role, Lindt will be based in London and report directly to Dennis Wong, vice president, portfolio strategy and growth, Oakwood.
“Lindt brings with him extensive knowledge, experience and key insights on our growth markets. As Oakwood continues to enter new destinations and grow our portfolio globally, I am excited to welcome Marcel on board and look forward to partnering with him to uncover greater development opportunities to drive our expansion plans,” said Wong.
In early 2021 Oakwood launched a new soft-brand – The Unlimited Collection by Oakwood – a brand it says is ideal for growth in Europe where there is a significant number of independent operated properties which are “seeking the sanctuary of an internationally recognised brand and standards”.
