US: Oakwood Worldwide account manager Robyn Tierney is serving as the 2014 chair of the Young Professionals Under 40 committee for the Worldwide ERC.

Worldwide ERC is the workforce mobility association and a centre for corporate and government mobility, educating and connecting mobility professionals worldwide. YP40 represents approximately 1,200 young professionals within the association.

The mission of the 12-member YP40 committee includes preparing future mobility leaders by fostering networking opportunities that connect young professionals with mentors and industry experts. Additionally, the committee aims to develop an overall communication plan that will help the organisation move towards new and strategic areas of growth within the younger demographic.

During her one-year term, Tierney plans to grow YP40 participation by 20 per cent and develop a strategy around converting those who are non-members into Worldwide ERC members. She is also looking to encourage YP40 participation at regional and local levels. Tierney has been a member of both the Worldwide ERC and YP40 for the past two years.

Tierney said: “I’m honoured to be nominated as YP40 committee chair and excited to be a part of this dynamic group. The mobility industry has been the ideal place for me to grow as a professional and develop into a leader. Through this role, I want to help other young professionals find opportunities like I have, and collectively we can discover new approaches and innovations to help move our industry forward.”

Peter Dizinno, Oakwood Worldwide vice president of sales, said: “We are delighted that the committee nominated Robyn for this honour. Early in her career, Robyn demonstrated strong leadership potential and has been a tremendous asset to Oakwood Worldwide. Through her work with YP40, she’ll be able to use her strengths in a way that will help Worldwide ERC’s younger professionals and the mobility industry as a whole.”
