UK: Real estate investor Niveda has submitted a planning application for a 290-bedroom student accommodation complex and aparthotel in Liverpool.
The 0.8-acre site on Benson Street is occupied by Renshaw Hall, a warehouse used for a skating rink in the early 1900s but now used as an indoor car park. The hall would be demolished to make way for the development, designed by Falconer Chester Hall.
The site, which is close to Oldham Park and Liverpool Lime Street station, has been earmarked for 34 cluster apartments and 28 studios, totalling 292 bedrooms for students, alongside 52 aparthotel rooms. The units will be split across three buildings of up to eight storeys, connected by public and private realm, with two ground floor commercial units.
The application has been put forward by NR Capricornus, a subsidiary of Niveda Realty. Niveda is a real estate investor headquartered in London’s Mayfair, controlled by two East African and South Asian families.
