UK: Quest Apartment Hotels has opened its Liverpool aparthotel – its first property in the UK and its first outside Australasia.

The property opens in the heart of the city centre following a year-long £10 million transformation converting and adding to the top three floors of the 1980s commercial office building. The new apartment hotel complex comprises 100 serviced apartments, reception, conference room, gym and back-of-house facilities.

Andrew Weisz, general manager – UK & Europe Growth at Quest Apartment Hotels said: “The Northern Powerhouse minister called Liverpool one of the most forward-thinking cities in the UK – and we couldn’t agree more. Liverpool is home to many expanding British and international businesses and, supported by the city’s fantastic transport network, those businesses need accommodation providers who truly understand their requirements. While the implications of a Brexit deal remain uncertain, one thing we know for sure is that Liverpool will remain a dynamic business hub that will continue to thrive. With an unrivalled location putting us at the heart of the thriving business community, we are confident Quest Liverpool City Centre will be the start of an exciting journey for Quest as we grow our presence and the apartment hotel proposition in the UK”.

To mark its arrival in the neighbourhood, Quest has donated an initial £2,500 to local children’s charity Zoё’s Place Trust – one that was selected specially by Quest Liverpool City Centre team members to be its charity of the year. The charity provides palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. The funds will go towards providing children with care in a safe, home-from-home environment.

Quest Liverpool City Centre employs 25 part-time and full-time local staff including front of house, concierge guest services, housekeeping and maintenance and will be managed by Cycas Hospitality.

Established by entrepreneur Paul Constantinou 30 years ago in Melbourne, the Quest Apartment Hotels portfolio numbers 170 properties across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
