UK: Plans for a 98-room aparthotel in the grounds of the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate have been recommended for approval.

Roomzzz, in conjunction with landowner the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, is seeking permission to build the property on a 1.3 acre site which currently serves as a car park.

It hopes to build a four-storey L-shaped building, incorporating 55,000 square feet of space.

Roomzzz expects the aparthotel will be used by customers attending the showroom for various events. There will be no restaurant or bar area, and other ancillary facilities will be limited, although there will be a small breakfast area and lounge on the ground floor. All units will feature a kitchenette.

The proposal, which will create 20 full-time jobs, has been recommended for conditional approval ahead of a Harrogate Borough Council planning meeting on March 1st.
