UK: Roomzzz Aparthotels has submitted revised plans for a £10 million aparthotel project in York.
The planning application for the scheme in Terry Avenue has been amended after the Environment Agency raised concerns about flooding risks from the nearby River Ouse.
Paul Manku, of Roomzzz parent company Park Lane Properties, said the company had been in talks with the agency and will make a financial contribution towards a scheme to improve a flood wall and flood storage area.
The height of the building is set to be reduced by one storey to meet concerns about its scale, and it will now also have a pitched roof to ensure it will be in keeping with the area.
Micklegate councillor Johnny Hayes said he understood the proposal was due to go to a planning meeting on September 15, and he had been contacted by architects for the scheme to see if a public meeting could be arranged before then so the revised scheme could be explained.
If approved, the project will deliver the second large aparthotel in York, the first of which is a 197-apartment Staycity development next to the Barbican.
