UK: Roomzzz Aparthotels has submitted plans for a £3 million six-storey property in Newcastle city centre.

The 77-unit aparthotel will adjoin the company’s existing Friar House building

The planning application, submitted by urban planners BDP and Newcastle-based Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners, says: “The new aparthotel would provide valuable accommodation for visitors to Newcastle. The 4-star boutique environment and service offered by Roomzzz Aparthotels will complement the existing food and beverage facilities in the vicinity.”

The application proposals have been developed and prepared following pre-application discussions and meetings with Newcastle City Council.

The plot next to Friar House has been vacant for many years, following the demolition of the Robinson’s warehouse in the 1960s. The proposed building has been developed with the surrounding buildings, which include Quayside Lofts and the Turnbull Building, in mind, and the floor plans have been developed so there are no windows overlooking the Turnbull Building to the east.
