UK: London-Based serviced apartment owner/operator Supercity UK has bought a site in Brighton, its first outside the capital.

Supercity will develop a 65-unit serviced apartment project at the 26,372 square foot city centre site, which is currently occupied by residential properties and a former ice rink. Planning permission for the project is already in place.

JLL advised vendor The Light Brighton LLP on the sale and has been retained by Supercity UK to seek opportunities in London and other key markets.

Max Thorne, managing director in JLL’s hotels and hospitality group, said: “Brighton is recognised for being a leading cultural centre but increasingly it is growing as a corporate base given its appeal as a home to a highly educated and cosmopolitan workforce. The hotel market in Brighton has consistently outperforming the UK regional market by around 40 per cent in terms of RevPar over the last three years.”

Supercity has three London serviced apartment development, two in Earl’s Court and one in Farringdon.
