Germany: The Apartment Network has hired Patrick W. Diemer to help advise its ambitious growth plans.

As a senior advisor, Diemer will work with The Apartment Network, an accommodation company that focuses on extended stays for corporate travellers, to expand, with plans to develop its presence in the German market first.

The company is confident that the serviced apartment sector will continue to grow, with its pipeline greatly expanding, specifically in the UK and Germany. In 2020, Germany was the second largest European market for serviced apartments, and the sector has remained resilient throughout the pandemic. Additionally, three German cities are listed in the Top 10 Serviced Apartment Stock by City.

Demand for serviced apartments in Germany is predicted to continue to grow, making TAN employees believe that now is an opportune time for the company to expand into the German market.

Diemer said: “I am delighted to join TAN as senior advisor. It is an exciting time for Serviced Apartments and for TAN. Initially, Germany presents an excellent opportunity for expansion and TAN’s high service level and investment in technology will be well received.”

Most recently, Diemer worked for Lufthansa AirPlus, leading its Global expansion strategy. Under his leadership, AirPlus became a leading commercial card issuer.

Additionally, Diemer has prior experience with the German market. Prior to Lufthansa, Diemer worked with Visa Germany and was SVP of consumer marketing at Commerzbank. Additionally, Diemer volunteers for VDR, the German Business Travel Association, leading their “restart business travel” task force.

Recently, TAN, which currently operates more than 40,000 serviced apartments worldwide, has been focusing on using technology to enhance its guests’ experience. After a significant capital raise in 2020, the company is on an accelerated path of growth.

CEO of The Apartment Network, Marcos Isaac said: “With TAN planning its growth in Europe, and with Germany a key market, we are absolutely delighted that Patrick is joining us as senior advisor. His knowledge is exceptional, and we look forward to what comes next.”
