Australia: Work has begun on Quest Apartments’ 97-unit site at Melbourne Airport.
The 97-unit property will compromise studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom serviced apartments, equipped with a kitchen, laundry, LCD TV and wifi. Amenities will include conference facilities, gymnasium, BBQ area, pantry shopping, dry cleaning, restaurant charge-back, baby-sitting and business administration.
At an official sod-turning ceremony, Quest chairman Paul Constantinou, said: “There are more than 14,000 people employed in roles supported by Melbourne Airport. Combine this with the 30 million people who pass through the airport each year, and there is a strong need for the quality accommodation that Quest supply. We make it our business to deliver capacity for growing markets, and are doing so by expanding our network significantly. In the next 12 months we are planning to open eight new properties. Commencing construction today here at Melbourne Airport is yet another milestone in our growth strategy.”
Melbourne Airport CEO Chris Woodruff said: “Providing more accommodation choice for people doing business at the airport, or are undertaking aviation training in the airport precinct, will support the future growth of these businesses in our local region.”
