US: Construction has begun on a TownePlace Suites by Marriott extended stay hotel in Fairfield, Ohio.
The four-storey, 83-room hotel is being built on a two-acre site at the Ohio 4/Seward Road intersection. It is the second hotel that will be owned by Fairfield Hotel Associates Two LLC, said David Wespiser of Hotel Development Services, developers of the project.
The hotel group also owns the nearby Holiday Inn Express, off Ohio 4 on Fairfield Business Park Drive, which opened in 2000.
“We know the market. Fairfield doesn’t have an extended stay hotel for the upscale market,” Wespiser said. “We like Fairfield, it’s a good city to do business in.”
Scheduled to open next fall, the hotel will feature studio and one-bedroom units. Each has a kitchen with a refrigerator, cooktop, microwave and dishwasher.
The estimated cost of the project is $11.2 million, which includes site work, construction, land purchase, and furnishings. Crews are currently doing site and utility work, along with building retaining walls.
