Saudi Arabia: The Kingdom Tower in jeddah – which will be the tallest building in the world when completed – will include 121 serviced apartments.
The $1.2 billion Kingdom Tower will be over 1 kilometre high, said Mounib Hammoud, chief executive of master developer Jeddah Economic Company (JEC), taking the title of the world’s tallest building from Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which stands at about 830 metres.
The Kingdom Tower, which is expected to be complete in 2018, will have a gross floor area of 245,000 square metres and include offices, a 200-room Four Seasons Hotel, 121 serviced apartments and 360 residential apartments.
Sales of the apartments are about to begin – citizens of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates – are eligible to buy units in the tower. Other potential investors will require government approval, Hammoud said.
