Australia: Franchisor Choice Hotels will launch its MainStay Suites brand in Australia with seven properties in the pipeline.
It marks the first expansion outside North America for the brand.
Through a direct franchising agreement with Extended STAY Australasia, MainStay Suites properties are due to launch in Melbourne, Whyalla, Mackay, and Townsville, representing 581 rooms.
Paul Constantinou, chairman of Extended STAY Australasia, said: “MainStay Suites is more than just a place to stay – it’s about giving guests the flexibility and comfort they need while away from home. With our ‘Live Like Home’ experience, we’re offering long-stay travellers a convenient and comfortable alternative to traditional hotels.”
Pat Pacious, president and chief executive officer at Choice Hotels, said: “Introducing MainStay Suites to Australia strengthens our presence in the region, and now broadens our reach into the growing extended stay category. This launch supports our growth strategy and international footprint, providing tailored solutions for corporate and government travellers, as well as project-based workers.”
The additions bring Choice’s Australian portfolio to 7,487 rooms across 163 hotels.
