UK: Plans have been lodged for a mixed-use development of four new buildings featuring apartments, an aparthotel and offices on a site in Leeds.
Singkee Group has submitted a full planning application to Leeds City Council for development on a 1.2-acre brownfield site that was formerly part of the Cherry Row Bus Depot in Sheepscar.
Planning permission is sought for the construction of three buildings of up to seven storeys featuring 80 apartments.
On of the buildings will be a six-story a 37-unit aparthotel and three offices.
The plans also include 20 car parking spaces, cycle storage a new public footway between Cherry Row and Ruby Street, and landscaping.
A statement submitted as part of the application said: “The proposed residential and commercial apart-hotel re-development of the application site represents more efficient and effective use of a Brownfield site in a highly sustainable urban location, providing inclusive and accessible housing choice in close and convenient walking distance to places of employment, education, shops, community facilities and public services.
“The application proposal will deliver a high-quality residential scheme where the proposed number of apartments, scale of the development, the site layout and means of access are appropriate to context.”
Planning permission was previously granted in 2017 for the change of use, extension and alterations of the former bus depot repair workshop and offices to form a food storage and distribution centre with associated offices and detached industrial building.
The warehouse building has since been completed and is operational, with associated offices also brought back into use. No work has started on the approved detached industrial building and this part of the site is earmarked for the aparthotel in the latest application.
