South Africa: Owner-operator The Capital Hotel Group will open The Capital Boardwalk in April 2026, located in the Boardwalk precinct of Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
The Capital Boardwalk will offer 145 luxury apartments, ranging from studio to three-bedroom units, including penthouses.
Amenities include coworking space, a conference centre, a pool deck and garden, restaurant and bar, and a gym.
The aparthotel also offers direct access to the Boardwalk precinct, which features shopping, dining, and entertainment facilities.
It marks the first project on the Eastern Cape for The Capital Hotel Group. It is expected to create more than 500 jobs during construction and up to 200 permanent roles once operational.
Marc Wachsberger, CEO of The Capital Hotel Group, said: “With The Capital Boardwalk we’re creating a space that supports business, empowers local talent, and adds new energy to one of South Africa’s most storied coastal cities.
“Gqeberha has all the ingredients of a rising coastal hub. We see enormous potential in the region not just as a tourism destination, but as a community ready to thrive,” he added.
