UK: Work has resumed on an aparthotel project in York after developer North Star (York) entered administration last year.
Mansley Group, a subsidiary Flemprat Ltd., have appointed Cubic Works of Manchester to complete work to its serviced apartment and retail store development on Parliament Street in York.
The project was originally scheduled to complete in December 2023, however “unforeseen issues” arose which presented “significant delays in time and substantial cost increases”.
When North Star collapsed in October 2024, Mansley took direct control of the project and used the break of building works to improve plans for the site.
Now set to open in summer 2026, the building will feature a luxury aparthotel on the upper floors of the site, offering 19 apartments designed by Studio Two of Harrogate.
The ground and basement floors provide more than 4,000 square feet of retail space currently being marketed by Savills on behalf of Mansley for £150,000 a year.
