UK: The AA has appointed experienced hotelier Andrew Oxley as its head of hotel services.

Oxley will take up his post on April 4. He has worked within the hospitality industry for 20 years, gaining experience as a general manager in a range of four and five star hotels throughout the country, including Down Hall Country House Hotel, The MacDonald Bath Spa Hotel and Tylney Hall Hotel.

The AA said: “Andrew’s proven leadership and management acumen ideally places him to engage with the industry and to develop the inspection team. He will not only continue to deliver the essential expertise that AA Hotel Services has been providing to establishments for over a century, but also innovate new and exciting products and services for the digital age.”

Kirsty Lloyd-Jukes, AA membership services director, said: “AA Hotel Services is a central part of the AA’s business offering and we are delighted that Andrew Oxley will be joining us to lead and develop the team. He has a great knowledge of the industry and we look forward to working together to set the direction for AA Hotel Services and take it to the next level.”

In August 2016, the AA announced the launch of a star rating scheme for serviced accommodation, and it is a category sponsor at the 2017 Serviced Apartment Awards.
