Avvio bolsters sales team

Ireland: Hospitality technology company Avvio has expanded its sales team.

Penny Crawford has been appointed head of sales operations, and joins with a wealth of sales experience in the technology, hospitality and talent sectors. Her role encompasses strategic development of Avvio’s clients across Europe. She focuses on the generation of new business for the technology company which has demonstrated a strong growth record in recent years.

Crawford said: “My role is really a hybrid position – not just traditional sales. I work with both new and existing clients to identify where we can add commercial value. Many of our clients are aspirational in how they run their businesses. The travel sector – particularly accommodation – is really evolving, and technology underpins the growth potential for our clients. We provide everything from cutting-edge booking platforms, to digital marketing and web design solutions to hotel businesses which are looking to raise their online visibility and direct bookings. We also help our clients continue to grow through our market-leading e-commerce trained team.”

Peter Norton has joined as senior business development executive, following a successful career in business development spanning FTSE 100, NASDAQ, Fortune 500 and start-up companies. His role at Avvio involves helping hoteliers, property managers and investment groups to identify and maximise their direct revenue growth through Avvio’s SaaS, digital and web design capabilities. He works closely with Avvio’s wide range of clients to develop their direct strategy for UK and European based businesses.

Gillian Halley has joined the European sales team earlier this year as senior business development executive. Her responsibilities are the continued development of Avvio’s strong home market. She is tasked with cultivating new business client relationships in Ireland’s hospitality sector, and is focused on developing and implementing a new business sales strategy.
