UK: The Edinburgh Collection has rolled out its Handy smartphone technology to the second venue in its portfolio, Holyrood ApartHOTEL.

The serviced apartment building has been upgraded to include a Handy smartphone in each of its 59 suites as part of a planned renovation.

The Edinburgh Collection’s newest venue Haymarket Hub Hotel was the first accommodation in Scotland to feature the Handy phones, which give total connectivity, allowing guests to control the environment of the room, as well as providing free local and international calls, and mobile data when they’re on the go.

Working as an electronic travel guide, the Handy smartphones includes bespoke recommendations for Edinburgh, giving a hub of information for visitors enabling them to access the latest city news, events, discover the best restaurants and bars and explore the capital using Google maps.

Ricky Kapoor, managing director of the Edinburgh Collection, said: “Technology has become such an integral part of all our lives, and we felt it was important to introduce that ease of access to our other venues as well. The Handy smartphones are an important aspect of our newest acquisition, Haymarket Hub Hotel, which as a venue is all about being connected – to the city and each other. The Holyrood ApartHOTEL is already well placed for corporate visitors as well as leisure breaks, and the new in-room technology will complete the experience with the total convenience afforded by technology, all at the touch of a button.”</p
