Sweden: Serviced apartment provider Movinn has entered into a long-term lease for the existing Duxiana Hotel in Malmö, which will reopen under a new aparthotel brand in June 2024.
Duxiana Hotel is located on the corner of Mäster Johansgatan and Norra Vallgatan in the historic city centre of Malmö.
It is set to be transformed into a 21-unit premium boutique aparthotel, and will relaunch later this summer under a new brand. The units will be available for both short and long stays catering to business and leisure travellers.
The property has been handed over to Movinn fully furnished, with DUX beds, Jetson chairs and more. The aparthotel will also have a restaurant on the ground floor, meeting facilities and a roof terrace.
Movinn CEO Patrick Blok said: “It’s a beautiful house that has been well taken care of by the former owners. It’s a fantastic location that will serve as a flagship product of our activities in Skåne. The quality of the property and interior is extremely high, making it a great plug-and-play opportunity for us to grow substantially and deliver on fundamental metrics without tying up too much capital. The deal is perfectly aligned with our sourcing strategy as well, making the deal a tangible example of our focus and ability to execute.”
Founded in October 2014 in Denmark, Movinn has presence in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Allerød, Malmö, Lund, Ludvika and Västerås. The company is planning to expand its operations further into Europe.
