US: Flexible apartment living provider Landing has supported 140 families by offering 13,000 free nights as part of its Homes for Healing initiative.

Homes for Healing was introduced in 2023 and offers no-cost, fully-furnished apartments to families travelling with a child for long-term medical treatment.

Since the launch, families have stayed with Landing on average 73 nights, saving on average $11,303. The total 13,000 nights covered by the program has equated to around $2 million in savings.

Eligible families are referred to Homes for Healing by their care team or social worker. Landing then works with each family individually to assess logistics such as the number of bedrooms required, access to transportation, proximity to the hospital, and more.

Bill Smith, founder and CEO at Landing, said: “Our Homes for Healing program is an important tenet of our Landing mission, culture, and community. As a parent, I have experienced the challenges and stress that come with finding specialised paediatric care. Searching for housing options and stretching finances should be the least of a family’s worries. We’re thankful to have the opportunity to continue to make this available to those that need it most.”

Landing manages a nationwide network of fully-furnished apartments which members can access via a subscription.
