Russia: Cosmos Hotel Group has signed a dual-branded aparthotel and hotel scheme in Lazurnaya Bay, Primorsky Krai, as part of its strategy to expand across Russia’s Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD).
Developed in partnership with Yug and MADO, the multifunctional complex will feature a 995-unit aparthotel under the Cosmos Stay brand, aligned with four-star standards, alongside a 164-key three-star Cosmos Smart hotel.
Together, the properties are designed to operate as a year-round resort destination on the outskirts of Vladivostok.
The project represents an investment of Rbs4.5 billion (£40 million). Construction will be phased, with the first 564 units due for completion by late 2027 or early 2028, and the remaining units delivered between 2028 and 2030.
Amenities will include a wellness centre, cafes and restaurants, fitness areas, a beauty salon, a 290-space car park, and sports facilities.
At the base of the complex, dedicated infrastructure is planned to support recreation, entertainment, and year-round tourism activity.
Cosmos Hotel Group said it will provide full operational oversight, including staff recruitment and training, property management, integration into its central reservation system, and marketing.
The company is also acting as technical consultant during design and construction to ensure compliance and quality.
Alexander Biba, president of Cosmos Hotel Group, said: “The project in Lazurnaya Bay has significant potential to become a year-round tourist destination. For us, developing a quality room inventory in the FEFD is a key task that enhances both tourist appeal and investment interest in the Far East.”
Alongside the Lazurnaya Bay project, Cosmos Hotel Group is pressing ahead with wider expansion in the region. The company has recently signed a 70-key aparthotel in Nakhodka and a 103-key three-star Cosmos hotel in central Vladivostok.
Additional projects are underway in Khabarovsk, Magadan, Yakutia, and Kamchatka, with the operator aiming to grow its regional portfolio to more than 2,000 keys over the next three to five years.
