UK: Serviced apartment operator Cotels has acquired Milton Keynes-based Shortstay MK, strengthening its offerings in the city.
After the investment, Cotel’s Milton Keynes portfolio includes 60 apartments, including an aparthotel with 12 one- and two-bedroom suites and penthouses.
Cotels said that guests should not expect any interruptions to service during the integration process.
“This is an exciting milestone for Cotels,” said Marcia Gomez, managing director of Cotels. “Having worked alongside Shortstay MK for many years, bringing our teams together was a natural next step. The acquisition allows us to offer one of the largest serviced apartment portfolios in a single location, which is particularly valuable for large group and project-based stays.”
Andy Dunkley of Business Doctors helped broker the deal. He said: “This acquisition brings together two highly respected businesses with a strong track record in the Milton Keynes market. Cotels is well positioned to build on Shortstay MK’s success, creating real scale and added value for clients, guests, and property partners alike.”
Elsewhere in the UK, Cotels operates in Derby and Northampton.
