France: Aparthotel brand Adagio has opened new Coliving by Adagio flat in Paris

Adagio, the Aparthotel brand, has opened its first flat in Paris, under its new Coliving by Adagio brand.

The Aparthotel Adagio Paris Bercy, which opened its coliving apartment in February, is a first in a move to adapt to the rising coliving trend.

The Coliving concept within Adagio has been created to sit within and complement the mix of typical Adagio studios and one bed apartments, and makes up no more than 20 per cent of the total floor area within a building.

Flats are aimed at groups of up to eight people looking to share a living space for both work and leisure.

Coliving by Adagio is aimed at the midscale four-star Adagio brand and involves the development of Coliving apartments, which can be adapted by having three, four, five or six en-suite bedrooms of 15 square metres, with the option of twin or kingsize beds.

A living room area, which will range from 40-80 square metres, depending on the number of bedrooms within the flat, encourages guests to gather and socialise, or cowork, in keeping with the brand’s public spaces, The Circle, in Adagio’s current Aparthotel properties.

The flats are aimed at both business and leisure travellers with a large kitchen area for eating and socialising, amenities including a washing machine, worktop areas with easy-access plugs for laptops and phones, bluetooth, games and books.

Alexandra van Pelt, UK, Ireland & Nordics development manager Aparthotels Adagio said: Our new Coliving concept for our midscale/four-star Adagio brand has been specifically developed to address the needs of guests wishing to stay together be they leisure or corporates, while retaining their own privacy.”

It’s not only guests who benefit from the flexible floor plans. Owners will be able to optimise sometimes complex floorplates, depending on the layout of the flats, making every square metre count.

van Pelt added: “We are delighted that forward bookings are really strong and we are already implementing other Coliving apartments in our pipeline projects.”

Adagio is also creating a Coliving concept for its economy/three-star brand, Adagio access, which is in the initial concept development stage.

The coliving apartment at the Aparthotel Adagio Paris Bercy, which was designed in partnership with French studio numero 111, offers a sleek modern feel with contemporary urban design.

Adagio is a joint venture between Accor and the Pierre and Vacances Center Parcs Group.
