Germany: Serviced apartment operator smartments has opened its second property in Frankfurt, located at the city’s airport.
The property in Gateway Gardens features 142 serviced apartments, including a mmix of studios and one-bedroom units. All include a kitchenette and smart TV.
It joins smartments Frankfurt City-East and marks the 11th location in the portfolio overall.
Andrea Bastel, managing director of smartments, said: “The airport is one of Europe’s key transportation hubs. With smartments Frankfurt Airport, we are creating an offering for travellers seeking flexible accommodation in close proximity to the terminal – from short stays to extended periods of several months.”
Next month in December, smartments will open Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof. Starting in 2026, the group’s home product line will further expand the portfolio with additional long-stay options.
The current portfolio comprises 2,177 units – divided between serviced apartments (1,171) and student housing (694). By the end of the year, the number of units will reach 2,398.
