Hungary: Aparthotel developer and operator Julius Meinl Living has acquired a building in central Budapest, marking the third Julius-branded property in the portfolio.Â
The Julius Budapest, located along Hegedű utca, is due to open in 2029. It will be redeveloped from a historic building and when complete, will offer 118 rooms and apartments. The team is targeting LEED Gold (or higher) certification.
The acquisition was supported by the EMTN bond framework and The Julius Fund, through which €16 million has been raised since December 2024.
It expands the group’s presence in Budapest, joining Escala Hotel & Suites in the city. It also marks the third Julius-branded property, following Prague (which opened in 2022) and Bucharest (opening in 2027).
