Switzerland: Lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke has opened its debut property in Switzerland, located in the centre of Zurich.
Locke am Platz marks the fifteenth aparthotel in the portfolio. Located in Enge, the property offers 80 units, a restaurant and a bar.
All studios feature a living area and fully fitted kitchen. The property also features 40 new hotel-style rooms for short-stay guests.
London-based design studio, Sella Concept, led by Tatjana von Stein, has overseen the interiors. The team have created bespoke furniture pieces in the social areas, such as the multifunctional lounge and restaurant area where a high table doubles up as a DJ booth.
The restaurant Choupette, overseen by head chef Jaco Redelinghuys, will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is based on classic French brasserie combined with Nordic techniques of preserving, pickling or Japanese fermenting.
A private dining area connected to the restaurant can be rented for private functions or family gatherings.
Locke’s expansion into Switzerland will be followed by new sites in Lisbon, Portugal (368 apartments), Copenhagen, Denmark (236 apartments), and Paris, France (145 apartments) next year.
Since the opening of its first location in 2016, by the end of 2024 Locke will operate a total of 18 aparthotels.
