Malaysia: Hilton has made its Malaysian debut with the 268-suite Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur.
Located at 73 Jalan Raja Chulan, in the capital’s Golden Triangle, the hotel offers suites ranging from 80 to 745 square metres. Hilton said that the all-suite property is designed with longer stays and multigenerational travel in mind, with spaces for living and rest.
The suites are designed by Deboss Collective and incorporates elements of natural stone, timber, woven textiles and handcrafted finishes, with aspects inspired by traditional Malay artistry.
Amenities include 3,745 square meters of event spaces for weddings, corporate gatherings and other functions, including the Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 2,500 guests, and an Executive Hub for meetings.
The hotel’s dining venues include The Istana and Indian restaurant Yaari, developed in collaboration with chef Garima Arora. Additionally, JG KL, abc kitchens KL, and The Bar by JG have been developed in partnership with chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Waldorf’s signature Peacock Alley provides a lounge and social space.
The Waldorf Astoria Spa spans 2,275 square metres across two floors. It offers La Prairie treatments and a visiting specialist programme covering areas such as fitness, nutrition, yoga and Pilates.
“Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur carries that legacy forward in the heart of the Golden Triangle, with an all-suite experience that brings a distinctive residential character to one of Asia’s most dynamic cities,” said Alan Watts, Hilton’s president for Asia Pacific.
“What makes Waldorf Astoria distinctive is its ability to create experiences that feel both unmistakably of the brand and deeply rooted in their destination,” said Candice D’Cruz, VP Asia Pacific for Hilton’s luxury brands.
