UK: An A-listed building in Glasgow city centre has undergone a £750,000 conversion into serviced apartments.
The office building in Nelson Mandela Place has been converted into 10 apartments which are now open.
While ornate facade of the period sandstone building has been retained, the interior has undergone extensive conversion and refurbishment.
The apartments, which were created by Mosaic Architecture + Design for Destiny Scotland, are close to Queen Street Station, Buchanan Street Subway and a range of bars and restaurants.
Stephen Mallon, director of Mosaic, said: “The refurbishment and conversion of this listed property was complicated due to the change of use and subsequent requirements of the building regulations. We ended up with a robust fire safety plan including sprinklers and automated smoke ventilation to navigate through the regulations. The design is crisp, robust and attractive making, best use of the existing features of the property.”
