UK: Development and investment partner Helios Real Estate with JV partner Marrico Asset Management have agreed a forward funding deal with Aberdeen Asset Management for a 200-bed room2 property in Leeds.
Built by Caddick Construction with architecture led by DLA, the aparthotel will be located along Lisbon Street in the West End of Leeds. Work is due to start this June with an excepted completion in 2028.
The 16-storey project will offer a mix of studio and suite rooms, along with a ground floor cafe and bar, meeting and events space, a gym, laundry facilities, and retail.
Scott Barnes, development director at Marrico, said: “This has been a highly collaborative process with Helios, Aberdeen, room2 and Caddick Construction, alongside the wider design team. We are proud to have brought the project forward to this stage. Securing funding is a significant milestone and we look forward to delivering another high-quality hotel in Leeds following the completion of Hyatt at Sovereign Square.”
Helios’ development director Natalie Lever added: “We have been working with room2 for some time to perfect the layout for their hotel in Leeds and are delighted that Aberdeen have once more decided to partner with us. The hotel will feature an extensive F&B offering and will offer both long and short term stays. Particular emphasis has been placed on the environmentally conscious aspects of the design in keeping with the room2 ethos and we are delighted to have achieved BREAM excellent status.”
